President Trump Unveils Plans for New White House Ballroom
President Trump has shared a first look at the planned White House ballroom, calling it a lasting addition that will serve the nation well for years to come.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed a rendering of the project, showing how it will replace the current East Wing with a brand-new structure. This new East Wing will feature the White House’s first official ballroom.
The ballroom is designed to match the White House in both height and size. It will be a large space, able to hold around 650 guests. The project is already underway and is expected to cost over $200 million, with funding coming from Trump and private donations.
Trump also pointed out that one wall of the ballroom will be a copy of the White House’s North Facade.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, had previously announced the ballroom plans, explaining that the White House currently struggles to host important events for world leaders. The new ballroom will provide a much-needed, beautiful space for these occasions, replacing the need for temporary tents.
Since returning to office, President Trump has focused on updating and improving the White House and other landmarks in Washington. He recently announced that the Trump Kennedy Center will undergo a two-year renovation.
Last year, Trump also presented plans for a monument to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. Additionally, he has added touches like gold accents to the Oval Office, created a “walk of fame” outside the office, renovated the Lincoln bathroom, updated the Rose Garden, and added American flags to the White House grounds.
