Elon Musk, the entrepreneur leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, recently shared his views during a conversation on X Spaces. He stated that former President Donald Trump supports the idea of dissolving the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Musk likened the agency to “a bowl of worms,” suggesting that it is fundamentally flawed and beyond salvage. He argued that there isn’t even a “good apple” in the bowl; the organization has become so corrupted that it cannot be fixed.
The discussion also highlighted Musk’s growing admiration for Trump. He declared, “I love the guy. He’s great,” emphasizing the positive rapport he has developed with the former president throughout their interactions.
Musk’s critiques of USAID reflect a broader sentiment among some conservatives who advocate for a reduction in government agencies and believe that taxpayer money would be better spent elsewhere. This advocacy aligns with a growing demand for government accountability and efficiency in spending.
