The music world mourns the loss of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July. A recent documentary reveals the personal struggles he faced, particularly after a neck surgery hampered his ability to perform.
Osbourne admitted in “Ozzy: No Escape From Now” that the possibility of never performing again led to deep depression, even suicidal thoughts. He was reportedly taking antidepressants to cope. His wife, Sharon, suggested that the surgeries, intended to help, may have ultimately caused more harm. Their son, Jack, expressed anger, believing the situation could have been avoided, stating the surgery took away his father’s ability to move.
Osbourne had previously announced the cancellation of his 2023 tour due to a spinal injury. Despite his physical challenges, Osbourne emphasized that he wanted his funeral to be a celebration of life, a time to say “thanks,” rather than a somber occasion. He acknowledged his own good fortune, especially compared to those who face hardship throughout their lives, a sentiment that reflects a traditional conservative appreciation for the blessings many enjoy.
