ICE Operation “Angel’s Honor” Nets Over 1,000 Criminal Illegal Immigrants
A recent operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), dubbed “Angel’s Honor,” has resulted in the arrest of over 1,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records. The operation, which concluded a 14-day enforcement period, is named in memory of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student who was tragically murdered in 2024.
The Laken Riley Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump, mandates the detention of illegal immigrants charged with crimes such as burglary, theft, assault, or any crime causing serious harm or death.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the Trump administration has “empowered us to arrest and remove the millions of violent criminal illegal aliens unleashed on the United States by the previous administration.” She added, “Now, these criminals will face justice and be removed from our country,”
ICE highlighted several arrests made during Operation “Angel’s Honor.” These included individuals with histories of serious crimes, such as rape and child abuse.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons commented on the operation, stating, “We named this operation ‘Angel’s Honor’ in honor of the memory of Laken Riley, whose life was tragically cut short by illegal alien crime.” He emphasized that ICE’s mission is to prevent further victimization of Americans by illegal immigrant crime.
