A family in Georgia is worried about their missing 14-year-old daughter, Amy Reidling. They think she might have been tricked into leaving by someone she met on the internet.
Amy’s stepmother, Ginny Rutledge, noticed Amy was missing from their home in DeKalb County on Sunday evening, September 21st.
The police in DeKalb County said that Amy was last seen at her home on Janet Lane in Decatur around 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Amy is about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 105 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair with bangs.
Police are still looking for Amy and are trying hard to find her and bring her home.
Amy was supposed to go to her homecoming dance this weekend. She had even gone shopping for things to match her dress on the day she disappeared.
Rutledge said that finding Amy is their worst fear come true.
She explained that she opened the door and Amy was gone. They searched the whole house and called 911. Every time they try to call Amy’s phone, it goes straight to voicemail.
Amy’s father and stepmother have hired a private detective to help. Rutledge also said that many people are helping them search by putting up posters and looking around the streets.
Rutledge wants Amy to know that many people are helping to find her and that they all want her to come home.
Amy’s parents think someone online might have tricked her into leaving.
Rutledge said that Amy doesn’t know enough about the dangers of a big city like Atlanta.
She said she believes Amy was taken. She told Amy that they love her, miss her, and want her to come back home because she is loved and wanted.
Rutledge asked Amy to let them know she is okay if she can and to stay safe and strong.
