The rise of anti-Semitism abroad should be a chilling wake-up call for everyone who values freedom and security. We must recognize the global threat radical Islamic extremism poses to Western values.

London Ablaze: Iranian Proxies Target Jewish Sites
London is under siege, not by bombs, but by a creeping, insidious wave of anti-Semitism. Synagogues, Jewish charities, and even Persian-language media critical of Iran are being targeted in a string of arson attacks. The Metropolitan Police are now investigating whether Iranian proxies are behind this hateful campaign.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans acknowledged the alleged group, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia, who claimed these attacks online, may have Iranian ties. This so-called group, whose name translates to Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right, has also allegedly claimed responsibility for similar attacks in Belgium and the Netherlands. Israel’s government says they are likely an Iranian proxy.
UK Jews Face Intimidation and Violence
The attacks, thankfully, have not resulted in any deaths, but the message is clear: British Jews are under threat. Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis rightly stated that this is a “sustained campaign of violence and intimidation.” He calls for immediate understanding of the danger.
In one of the most alarming incidents, four ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity were torched last month. The police have deployed extra officers and made several arrests, but the root of the problem lies in the emboldened hatred fostered by radical elements, potentially backed by a hostile foreign power.
Appeasement Fails Again: The Broader Impact
The fact that Iranian proxies may be operating on British soil is a direct result of appeasement policies toward Iran. For years, Western leaders have tiptoed around the Iranian regime, hoping to moderate its behavior through diplomacy and concessions. This approach has clearly failed.
MI5 domestic intelligence reports that over 20 “potentially lethal” Iran-backed plots have been disrupted in the past year. The consequences of inaction are now playing out on the streets of London. We must recognize this isn’t just about anti-Semitism; it’s about the erosion of Western values and the threat posed by radical Islamic extremism. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attacks and vowed justice, but strong words must be followed by decisive action.
The future demands a complete reevaluation of our relationship with Iran. Sanctions must be strengthened and enforced, support for Iranian opposition groups must be amplified, and any attempt to develop nuclear weapons must be met with the strongest possible response. We must stand firmly with our allies, particularly Israel, and send a clear message that anti-Semitism and terrorism will never be tolerated.
Will Western leaders finally wake up and confront the threat posed by Iran, or will they continue down the path of appeasement, paving the way for further violence and instability?
