A New Hampshire woman, Emily Long, who is said to have taken a lot of money from her boss, later killed her family and herself. It turns out she talked about loving to shop on social media.
Emily Long, who was 34, killed her husband, Ryan Long, and their two children, Parker and Ryan, in August. After that, she killed herself.
While people were sad about what happened, Emily’s boss said that she had stolen $660,000 from him over the past two years.
Derek Fisher, who owns the restaurants where Emily worked, said he was going to meet with her to talk about money problems. He didn’t want to get the police involved.
But Emily didn’t show up. A week later, Emily, Ryan, and their kids were found dead in their home.
After Fisher said she stole money, a news report found out that Emily had been accused of stealing before.
Back in 2016, she was being looked at for $11,000 that went missing from a job she had on Nantucket. But the charges were dropped because the place closed down.
Even though she had been accused of stealing, Emily said she was “addicted” to shopping. She even joked that “being on a budget should be a crime.”
Fisher, Emily’s boss, now thinks that there were signs that Emily shopped too much.
He said that he always saw Amazon packages with her name on them at the restaurant.
Before the killings, Emily had become popular on TikTok. She shared about her family dealing with her husband’s brain cancer.
In some videos, she seemed very upset and said she was feeling down.
Just days before the killings, she posted on TikTok about selling her things on Facebook. This might mean she was having money problems.
In one video, she said, “You can’t keep ignoring everything and hoping that it disappears.”
The couple’s youngest child was found unharmed at the scene.
