A national memorial service honoring the life of Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Sunday, drawing thousands of people, including leading figures in the Republican party such as President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, both of whom are expected to speak.
Kirk, aged 31, a devoted husband and father of two young children, and a founder of Turning Point USA, tragically lost his life on September 10th. He was shot while engaging with attendees at Utah Valley University, during a discussion that mirrored the passionate debates he was known for.
The news of his passing resonated deeply across the nation, regardless of political affiliations. President Trump, a close friend of Kirk who often spoke of him as a son, ordered that flags be flown at half-staff in mourning.
According to Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, “Charlie was committed to empowering the upcoming generation to stand firm in defense of faith, freedom, and family. This gathering is more than just a memorial; it’s a call to action to continue his work at Turning Point USA, ensuring his significant legacy continues to shape America and the world.”
Here are the details for the “Building a Legacy: Remembering Charlie Kirk” memorial service:
When and Where?
The service will take place on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the home of the Arizona Cardinals.
The stadium can accommodate up to 73,000 people for major events, and organizers anticipate a large crowd. Additional indoor space will be available at the Desert Diamond Arena, which can hold another 20,000 people.
Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. PT, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Will it be Televised?
News networks such as CBS are expected to broadcast the funeral and Turning Point USA will stream the service live on platforms such as YouTube and Rumble.
Is it Open to the Public?
Yes, the memorial is open to the public, and admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on stadium capacity. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best attire, wearing red, white, or blue.
Parking will be free, and attendees are encouraged to carpool due to the expected crowd size.
Who Will Be There?
In addition to thousands of supporters, the service will be attended by prominent figures from the Trump administration, including the President and Vice President.
Erika, Charlie Kirk’s wife, who delivered an emotional statement following her husband’s death, will also be speaking.
Other anticipated speakers include White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump Jr., Tucker Carlson, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Director of the White House Personnel Office Sergio Gor.
Worship services will be led by Chris Tomlin, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham, Kari Jobe Carnes and Cody Carnes.
Security Measures
Given the event’s high profile, the large crowd, and the attendance of political leaders, strict security measures will be in place, which may result in longer wait times.
A no-bag policy will be enforced. Attendees arriving with bags will be denied entry and will be required to return the bag to their vehicle before rejoining the line.
