A sad incident occurred where a mother of three lost her life in a crocodile attack.
Laxmi Dalei was fishing in the Gobari River, near Bhitarkanika National Park in India, when a crocodile pulled her into the water. This happened around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19.
After the attack, local forest guards, firefighters, and people living nearby started looking for her. Sadly, they found her body on the riverbank the next day, Saturday, September 20.
Someone who saw what happened said that people tried to help Laxmi when the crocodile attacked, but they couldn’t save her.
A forest officer named Santanu Kumar Dalei explained that the crocodile came out of nowhere and grabbed her before she could do anything.
Bhitarkanika is a big area of water in Odisha where many saltwater crocodiles live. There are said to be over 1,800 of them.
An officer warned that it’s not safe to go into the water because of the crocodiles.
Laxmi leaves behind her husband and three young daughters.
