Dnipro Apartment Building Hit, Civilians Harmed
Dnipro, Ukraine – Recent reports confirm a Russian drone struck an apartment building in Dnipro, a large city in eastern Ukraine. Sadly, this attack resulted in the loss of three lives and injuries to twelve others.
The strike in Dnipro occurred amidst a series of Russian attacks across the nation, seemingly aimed at taking down Ukraine’s power systems. A worker at an energy company in Kharkiv, located further north, also lost his life in these attacks, according to local reports.
Ukrainian officials stated that Russian forces launched a large number of drones and missiles. They claim their forces were able to take down many of these incoming weapons.
Due to these attacks, power was turned off in some areas to protect the system.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that plans are underway to prepare for a possible Russian nuclear test, following President Putin’s orders.
The Kremlin maintains that its strikes are only aimed at military targets. However, the almost daily attacks have had a devastating impact on civilian lives and infrastructure.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently spoke about ensuring that Russian oil does not reach Europe. This follows reports that Hungary, a country led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has been described as a Trump ally, secured an exemption from U.S. sanctions on Russian oil producers. Orbán has argued that his country needs Russian oil and gas.
