The project was first revealed in April 2023, with the company stating that each season would focus on one book from J.K. Rowling’s popular series. The journey will begin with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and conclude with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max, expressed enthusiasm about this new opportunity for audiences to experience the magic of Hogwarts in a fresh way. Although Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who portrayed Harry Potter in the films, confirmed he would not be involved in the new series, he shared his excitement as a fan.
J.K. Rowling will maintain a hands-on role in the series, serving as an executive producer to ensure the adaptation remains true to her original vision. Despite facing controversy in recent years, Rowling’s involvement reassures fans that the show will honor the rich storytelling of the source material.
