A man in Oconee County, South Carolina, is facing serious charges related to sexual assault. Tray Frasier appeared in court on Wednesday to address multiple accusations, including seven counts of criminal sexual conduct involving different victims.
Frasier has a total of twelve charges against him, with the court hearing initially set for him to enter a plea. However, the proceedings were postponed until January. During the hearing, Frasier mentioned that he believed his previous lawyer had reached an agreement with the state for a sentence that included probation and the chance for credit for time already served. The judge clarified that the decision on the sentence was solely his responsibility, indicating that Frasier could face anywhere from 10 to 20 years in prison.
The case against Frasier includes offenses that date back to 2013 and span over eight years, culminating in his arrest in 2021. Besides the sexual conduct charges, he also faces additional counts of kidnapping, burglary, assault and battery in the third degree, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
One particular warrant from 2020 describes an incident where Frasier allegedly broke into a home at night while armed and assaulted a victim. Other allegations involve instances of physical restraint during the attacks.
Currently, Frasier is out on home detention, and the judge has given him until early January to submit his plea. If he fails to do so, the case will proceed to trial. Updates on the situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
