Endless areas on the property to hang, dance, and play.” While she feels overwhelmed with the task of rebuilding, she remains hopeful, saying, “I will do it all again.”
Since the fire, Lake has been staying at a friend’s guest house and noted that her current life feels “really, really strange.” In a heartfelt video, she shared her emotional struggles, describing her feelings as a mix of sadness and numbness. She also sympathized with others who have lost their homes, especially those with children or pets.
In the chaos of evacuation, Lake managed to save a precious coat made from her late husband’s shirt, which she described as one of the things she cherishes most. Although she lost many treasured items, this coat brings her comfort during this difficult time.
