Homeland Security Announces Arrests of Illegal Immigrant Truck Drivers, Cites Public Safety Concerns
Gary, Indiana – In a move praised by conservatives as a necessary step to protect American citizens, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced the results of a joint operation with the Indiana State Police. The operation, conducted near the Illinois border, led to the arrest of 223 individuals who are in the country illegally, including 146 commercial truck drivers.

According to DHS, a troubling number of CDLs were issued in states known for their lenient immigration policies. The enforcement action in Northwest Indiana, part of Operation Midway Blitz, targeted a range of criminal activities, including:

- Assault
- Child abuse
- Domestic battery
- Prostitution
- Fraud
Critics of illegal immigration emphasize that such operations are crucial for maintaining law and order and protecting American jobs.
