LOS ANGELES — Police reports confirm that burglaries are continuing to be a concern in Los Angeles, as evidenced by a recent incident involving French soccer star Olivier Giroud. The 38-year-old athlete, who plays for Los Angeles FC (LAFC), had his home targeted earlier this month.
Giroud, who joined the LAFC last year after a successful stint in Europe, was the victim of a break-in on February 5. Authorities responded swiftly to a call reporting a broken window at his residence in west Los Angeles. The glass from an upstairs bedroom window was shattered, leading to the intrusion.
While officials are investigating the incident, a spokesperson for LAFC, Seth Burton, confirmed that they are aware of the situation but refrained from providing further details, respecting the privacy of Giroud.
The French striker is well-known for his impressive performances across several top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and AC Milan. He has made a significant impact on the soccer field, scoring 285 goals over his career and accumulating numerous accolades, including a Champions League title with Chelsea in 2021.
