She pointed out that many couples in the franchise start with a solid foundation. “When we began on ‘Beverly Hills,’ we were all married,” she said. Richards also noted that many couples come into the show with existing problems. “My experience was quite different, as I never thought reality TV would lead to divorce,” she shared.
Reflecting on her marriage, Richards expressed concern that fame and fortune might not be beneficial for a lasting partnership. “If I could point to moments in our lives, I’d say that having money and fame can strain a marriage,” she explained. She reminisced about simpler times when they didn’t have much, suggesting that had their lives taken a different path, they might still be together.
Mauricio Umansky, who co-founded The Agency, shared a joint statement with Richards when their separation news broke. They emphasized that despite having a challenging year, their love and respect for each other remain intact, and there has been no wrongdoing on either side. They requested understanding and privacy as they navigate these personal challenges.
Although they have not filed for divorce yet, the couple has three daughters together: Alexia, Sophia, and Portia, as well as Richards’ daughter, Farrah, from her previous marriage.
As Richards deals with these personal struggles, she has temporarily stepped away from filming “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” She admitted feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained, something she wasn’t used to experiencing. “I’ve always struggled with anxiety but never felt depressed. This time, it felt different,” she shared.
