New video footage has surfaced showing Bryan Kohberger, the man found guilty of killing four University of Idaho students, shopping shortly after the murders.
The video, obtained by Fox News, shows Kohberger at a Costco store. He was turned away because he didn’t have a membership card. Another video shows him in a store, browsing and using the self-checkout.
Other video evidence that police would have used in court shows Kohberger’s white car in different places before and after the killings. Kohberger pleaded guilty in July, avoiding a trial.
In December 2022, Kohberger was charged with killing Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin.
The four students were stabbed to death at a house near the University of Idaho on November 13, 2022. Two other roommates were home at the time but were not hurt. Police quickly said they weren’t suspects.
Kohberger has been sentenced to four life sentences, plus 10 years for burglary. He also has to pay $270,000 in fines. He will not be able to get out on parole.
The reason for the murders is still unknown. Some people who knew Kohberger have told police he might have wanted to see if he could get away with the crimes he studied.
Investigators found a knife sheath at the crime scene, which had DNA that linked to Kohberger. They matched this DNA to trash taken from his parents’ home. Later, a DNA sample taken from Kohberger matched the DNA on the knife sheath.
On the night of the murders, a white car was seen leaving the area. The car and a phone linked to Kohberger came back to the area a few hours later. Records also show that a phone linked to Kohberger was near the house several times before the murders.
Recently, there have been reports that Kohberger is being bothered by other inmates in prison. They are said to be making noise and taunting him. Prison officials say they know about Kohberger’s complaints and are working to keep a safe environment for everyone.
