Osbourne emphasized that true help should come from a sincere desire to support those in need, not from a desire to gain recognition. She criticized those who seem to use disaster situations for their own benefits, remarking, “No one asked for your hugs; maybe you should just stay home.”
Her remarks echo sentiments expressed by actress Justine Bateman, who accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of using the Palisades Fire as a backdrop for their own publicity. Bateman’s criticism suggested that the couple’s actions were reminiscent of “ambulance chasers” during a time of crisis.
In a response to growing frustration, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee also addressed the issue, expressing anger toward artists who continue to promote their work amid a humanitarian crisis. He stated, “It makes me sick to see people just posting about their albums and tours while so many are struggling,” and urged individuals to focus on those truly in need.
