John Daly is recovering from recent hand surgery and has shared his good wishes for President Trump just ahead of the upcoming inauguration. Just days later, Daly, 58, expressed his support for Trump on the eve of the President-elect’s second inauguration. In his Instagram post, Daly wrote, “LFGGGG it’s time! God Bless America @RealDonaldTrump!” This was accompanied by a cover of Time Magazine showing Trump at the Oval Office desk with the caption “He’s back.”
Daly has long been an outspoken supporter of Trump, affectionately calling him “Daddy Trump.” Recently, he participated in the PNC Championship alongside his son, John Daly II, where they finished eighth at 20-under par. They were one of several teams, including legendary golfers Tiger Woods and his son Charlie, who were competing in this exciting tournament.
Despite the challenges he faced this year, Daly remains optimistic about returning to the golf course soon after his surgery. He expressed gratitude towards his medical team for their care, saying, “Thank you to Doc (Frederick) McClimans for getting me mended back! Should be hitting em again soon! Thx for all the messages.”
However, this year has not been easy for Daly. In October, Hurricane Helene devastated his Clearwater, Florida home, leaving him to reflect on the loss. He remarked, “I’m just glad everyone is healthy, that’s the main thing.” Adjusting to life after such a significant loss is tough, but he understands the risks that come with living in Florida, stating, “You live in Florida, you have to understand that’s going to happen, but not like this. I didn’t think it would be this bad. The memories are what you miss when you lose something like that.”
With five wins on the PGA Tour under his belt, including the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship, Daly has made a significant mark in the golfing world. His recent experiences highlight not only his resilience but also his dedication to his family and support for his beliefs.
