A young woman from Taiwan, known online as Iris Hsieh, has died in Malaysia, and police are now investigating it as a possible murder.
Hsieh, who was 31 and had many followers on Instagram, was found in a hotel bathtub in Kuala Lumpur on October 22nd. At first, her death was thought to be from natural causes, but police are now looking into whether she was murdered.
The police say that a Malaysian rapper named Namewee was the last person seen with Hsieh. According to news reports, he was in the same room as her when she died.
Namewee was arrested on a separate matter related to drugs around the same time. Police say they found drugs in his possession and that he tested positive for several substances. However, he has denied taking drugs, saying he has only been drinking more lately.
Namewee said he is very sorry about Hsieh’s death and that he believes the truth will come out when the police release their report.
Police are talking to people who work at the hotel and looking at security camera footage to find out what happened before Hsieh’s death. They are investigating everyone involved, including the people who were with her last.
