A former contestant from “American Idol,” Randy Madden, has been arrested in California. The 45-year-old faces serious charges, including crimes against a minor.
Madden was taken into custody in Ventura County on July 21st. He’s been charged with six felonies. These include sex crimes involving someone under 18, sending harmful materials, and trying to stop a witness from reporting a crime.
Madden has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. After his arrest on Oct. 30th, he was released on bail on November 4th. He’s scheduled to appear in court on November 13th.
During his “American Idol” audition in season 8, Madden sang “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Sadly, the judges didn’t vote him through to the next round.
Another “American Idol” contestant, Benjamin Glaze, has also faced legal trouble. He was arrested in Oklahoma last year for allegedly having child sexual abuse material. These cases highlight the importance of upholding moral standards and protecting our children.
