Hermès brought a touch of brightness to a rather dreary day in Paris with its new fall men’s collection, which debuted on Saturday. Designer Veronique Nichanian drew inspiration from the world of horse racing, particularly the colorful silks worn by jockeys, which reflect the brand’s deep connections to equestrian culture. “I aimed for this collection to embody strength and energy,” Nichanian shared, highlighting her choice of warm colors such as tomato red and lemon yellow against deep browns and dark teals.
The collection radiated a welcoming vibe, both in its feel and style. Soft mohair coats, cozy velvet varsity jackets, and plush sheepskin outerwear enveloped models in warmth—perfect for warding off the winter chill. This season, layering was more understated, allowing for sleek and elegant silhouettes. Even the gray pinstripe suits were streamlined, reflecting Nichanian’s vision of men moving effortlessly through life.
Sweaters took center stage in this collection, featuring bold chevron patterns reminiscent of vibrant racing silks, and paying homage to the strong architectural lines of Palais d’Iéna. A striking turtleneck caught the eye with its playful patchwork design, bringing back memories of geometry class, while a shawl-collared jacket showcased similar patterns in a cool palette of blue, black, and white.
While rooted in classic tailoring, the collection truly celebrated a blend of tradition and modern flair. Nichanian’s thoughtful balance of function and fun echoed the Hermès spirit—one that continues to surprise and delight its enthusiasts. This collection proves that Hermès is once again ready to race ahead, blending nostalgia with contemporary style.
