A performer featured in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show faced serious consequences after waving a Sudanese-Palestinian flag during the event. As a result, he has been banned for life from attending any NFL games or events.
The National Football League (NFL) confirmed to the Associated Press that the individual involved will no longer be allowed at any NFL venues, stressing that the production crew had no prior knowledge of the individual’s intentions.
On February 10, the New Orleans Police Department reported that although the man was removed from the stadium, he was neither arrested nor issued a ticket, and thus, his identity has not been released.
According to NFL officials, the performer, who was part of a large field cast of 400, concealed the flag on his person and revealed it towards the end of the show while standing on a prop vehicle.
The NFL has not yet responded to requests for further comments regarding the situation.
Kendrick Lamar showcased his popular hits at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, including “HUMBLE.” and “Squabble Up,” and also performed his Grammy-winning song “Not Like Us.”
