A man in Georgia has been arrested following the tragic stabbing of a woman.
Brian Moree is accused of fleeing the scene on foot after the incident, which happened late on January 13. He was located and taken into custody early the next morning in Dalton, Georgia, according to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered the woman at the scene; she has been identified as Andrina Long. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the location. Authorities have not yet released information on what led to this violent act.
Moree now faces a murder charge and is currently being held in the Whitfield County Jail.
Sheriff Darren J. Pierce emphasized the importance of teamwork in addressing such tragic events, stating, “It takes a collective effort to respond to a tragedy like this. In just a few hours, we identified the offender, secured arrest warrants, and tracked him down in the woods to make the arrest. This shows what’s possible when we stand together for our community.”
