Israel Receives Remains of Hostages as Ceasefire Holds
Jerusalem – The Israeli military announced Thursday that Palestinian militants in Gaza have returned the remains of two deceased hostages. The transfer was made to the Red Cross.
This follows the return of remains of 15 hostages since a ceasefire began. There are reportedly 13 more to be recovered.
The handover suggests the ceasefire is still in effect. The Israeli army confirmed strikes against terrorist infrastructure in Khan Younis, an area under Israeli control. They said the strikes were targeting threats to their troops.
Reports from southern Gaza indicated that at least 40 people were injured in the strikes.
The ceasefire began October 10, and is intended to halt the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
