Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial Update
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the music mogul, recently made a light-hearted moment in court by complimenting the judge on his performance during the trial. Combs is currently facing serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
On June 24, Combs chose not to take the stand, and his defense team wrapped up their case in a brief 23 minutes. They presented text messages exchanged between Combs and his former partner, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, as part of their argument.
During the court session, Judge Arun Subramanian inquired about Combs’ well-being. Combs replied, "I’m doing great, your honor," then added a compliment about the judge’s work, which brought a smile to the courtroom.
The defense shared excerpts from Combs’ messages, including one where he wrote, “You think you can [Freak-Off] without getting high? Lol.” Ventura responded with, “Yeah I’ll just have to be at my level and what is good for me.” The prosecution did not counter this evidence.
Closing arguments are expected to start on June 26, with jury deliberations likely beginning on the following Monday.
As part of the prosecution’s case, they called 34 witnesses over 29 days, including women who claimed to have experienced abuse by Combs during their relationships. The trial continues to attract significant attention as it unfolds.
