A sad event happened in New York City where two men died in what looks like a murder-suicide. It seems this terrible event was caused by a disagreement about selling their family’s house.
The police in New York City said they got a call about a shooting at a house in Queens on Friday night.
When the police arrived, they found two men, one 37 and the other 41, who had been shot in the head. The younger man died right away. The older man was taken to a hospital but later died there. The police found a gun near the older man.
Family members told news reporters that the two men were cousins. They were fighting about selling their family house and how the money would be split.
The house in Queens has two bedrooms and was for sale for about $600,000.
The uncle of the two men said that the fight was about “how the money was going to be divided up.”
The man who did the shooting was in charge of selling the house, and his younger cousin was helping him.
The uncle said the older cousin gave the younger cousin permission to sell the house because he knew about real estate. But then they started arguing about the sale.
The uncle also said that the shooter might have been in the house with his cousin’s body for hours before he shot himself.
The uncle realized something was wrong when the younger man’s girlfriend said she had been waiting for him outside for hours.
A neighbor said the girlfriend told them she hadn’t heard from him since 11 a.m.
The uncle and the girlfriend went into the house and found the younger man’s body.
The uncle said they left the house because they were worried the shooter was still inside. He said they heard a gunshot as they were leaving.
The police have not yet said who the two men are. They are still investigating what happened.
