President Trump Confirms Action in Venezuela to Protect American Security
Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump has acknowledged reports about the CIA’s operations in Venezuela, emphasizing the critical need to safeguard American interests. While details remain confidential, the President highlighted two major reasons for authorizing such actions: the troubling release of dangerous criminals from Venezuelan prisons into the United States, and the country’s significant role in drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl, which is devastating American communities.
During a recent White House briefing, President Trump addressed questions about the CIA’s presence in Venezuela, confirming that operations were indeed underway.
“I authorized for two reasons, really,” President Trump stated firmly. “Number one, they have emptied their prisons into the United States of America.” He added, “And the other thing, the drugs. We have a lot of drugs coming in from Venezuela, and a lot of the Venezuelan drugs come in through the sea. So, you get to see that, but we’re going to stop them by land also.”
The President’s remarks underscore his commitment to border security and his determination to fight the opioid crisis plaguing the nation. The release of prisoners, including gang members, from Venezuela poses a direct threat to the safety and security of American citizens. Furthermore, the influx of drugs like fentanyl contributes to addiction, crime, and the tragic loss of life across the country.
President Trump indicated that the United States is considering further measures, including potential strikes on Venezuelan territory, following successful operations targeting drug-trafficking boats off the Venezuelan coast.
“We are certainly looking at land now, because we’ve got the sea very well under control,” Trump told reporters. “We’ve had a couple of days where there isn’t a boat to be found.”
When asked about specific actions against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, President Trump responded, “Oh, I don’t want to answer a question like that… I think Venezuela is feeling heat, but I think a lot of other countries are feeling heat, too.”
These comments reflect a broader strategy of holding hostile regimes accountable for their actions and protecting American interests on the global stage. The President’s firm stance sends a clear message to those who seek to undermine American security and well-being.
Critics, including Maduro, have accused President Trump of escalating tensions and seeking to control Venezuela’s resources. However, the Trump administration maintains that its actions are driven by a genuine concern for American security and the need to address the threats posed by crime and drug trafficking.
Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yván Gil also criticized President Trump’s confirmation of CIA covert operations in the country, arguing that the policy amounts to “warmongering.”
“We view with extreme alarm the use of the CIA, as well as the military deployments announced in the Caribbean, which amount to a policy of aggression, threat, and harassment against Venezuela,” Gil stated.
The situation in Venezuela remains a complex and evolving challenge. President Trump’s actions demonstrate a commitment to protecting American citizens from the dangers of open borders and the flow of illegal drugs. By addressing these threats head-on, the administration seeks to ensure a safer and more secure future for the United States.
