A Texas man’s recent arrest exposes a chilling reality: the cartels’ reach extends far beyond the border. This incident underscores the urgent need for decisive action to secure our nation.
- Alleged cartel ties

Cartel Thug Threatens Texas Law Enforcement
Jon Christian Orozco, a 25-year-old from El Paso, was initially pulled over for a traffic violation. Deputies suspected he was driving drunk. That’s when things took a dark turn.
Orozco allegedly claimed to have ties to Mexican drug cartels. He then proceeded to threaten the lives of the deputies and their families.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reports that Orozco told two officers he could “place a green light” on them. For those unaware, in the criminal underworld, this signifies an authorization to assault or kill someone. Orozco’s threats were explicit and detailed. He stated his intent to locate and harm law enforcement.
A Revolving Door Justice System?
Orozco was initially arrested on April 10th and booked on a mere $12,500 bond. This slap on the wrist is an insult to law enforcement. This sends a dangerous message that threats against officers will be tolerated.
Thankfully, he was arrested again on Monday. A judge found enough evidence to issue another warrant for obstruction or retaliation.
He was booked on a separate $10,000 bond. But is this enough? How many chances will he get?
The Bigger Picture: Cartel Influence in Our Communities
This incident isn’t just about one man’s bad behavior. It is a symptom of a much larger problem: the growing influence of Mexican cartels within the United States. Their unchecked power at the border is now seeping into our towns and cities.
These cartels are not just smuggling drugs. They are actively recruiting, intimidating, and threatening American citizens. They are creating a climate of fear. This erodes the very fabric of our society.
The Biden administration’s open border policies have emboldened these criminal organizations. They face little resistance. It’s time to restore law and order, secure our borders, and crack down on cartel activity within our communities. We must support our law enforcement. They are on the front lines of this battle.
When will our leaders wake up and realize the danger we face?
