Authorities in Boston have charged a woman with murder following the discovery of an attorney’s body on a houseboat at a marina last weekend.
Joseph Donohue, 65, was found unresponsive by police on the evening of February 2 after his son requested a welfare check, concerned about his father’s well-being due to a lack of communication.
Nora Nelson, 24, was initially arrested at the scene on unrelated warrants and later faced murder charges on Thursday.
Investigators confirmed that Donohue had suffered multiple stab wounds, with his death being treated as a homicide. Reports indicate that Donohue’s dog was also found dead in the water, though details surrounding the dog’s demise remain unclear.
Donohue was an attorney and a devoted father of three. His family released a statement expressing their heartbreak over the loss, describing him as a loving family member, friend, and colleague who devoted his life to helping others.
The authorities have not provided additional details about the investigation, including the ownership of the boat or any previous connection between Nelson and Donohue. Nelson is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
