Cyrus responded to the difficulties by saying, “In life, when you have technical difficulties, you just gotta keep going, or as President Trump would say, ‘You gotta fight.'”
With the sound issues still unresolved, Cyrus made the decision to perform “Achy Breaky Heart” without any musical backing, relying on his voice and snapping his fingers to engage the crowd.
While some viewers criticized the performance on social media, suggesting it was awkward, others appreciated Cyrus’s perseverance. In a later statement, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform, regardless of the equipment failures. He said, “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me. I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night.”
This performance followed another notable moment from the inauguration day, where Carrie Underwood faced her own technical headaches during her rendition of “America the Beautiful.” Ultimately, both artists showcased their commitment to entertain and connect with the audience, proving the spirit of live performances can overcome even the toughest hurdles.
