Delaware Man Charged in Wife’s Death; Connection to Former First Lady
Wilmington, Delaware – William Stevenson, 77, the former husband of Jill Biden, has been charged with the murder of his wife, Linda Stevenson, 64. The charges stem from an incident on December 28th at their shared home in Wilmington.
Local police responded to a reported domestic dispute late in the evening. Upon arrival, they found Linda Stevenson unresponsive. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
William Stevenson is currently held on a $500,000 bail after his arrest.
Caroline Harrison, a spokesperson for the Delaware Attorney General, confirmed the link between William Stevenson and the former First Lady. Jill Biden, who was married to Stevenson from 1970 to 1975, has declined to comment on the matter.
Linda Stevenson was a local bookkeeper and remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The investigation by the Delaware Department of Justice is ongoing. It is unclear if Stevenson has legal representation.
