Weezer bassist Scott Shriner is facing a serious situation as his wife, Jillian Lauren-Shriner, was shot by police during a disturbance near their Eagle Rock home in Los Angeles. The incident occurred when officers were pursuing a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident on a nearby freeway.
Jillian, aged 51, was reportedly struck in the shoulder after she did not yield her weapon. The police had been responding to a situation where the suspect fled on foot into her neighborhood. Following the confrontation and after returning to her home, she surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody.
Paramedics transported her to a hospital for treatment. She is now facing charges of attempted murder with bail set at $1 million, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
In addition to Jillian’s situation, authorities stated that one male suspect involved in the original hit-and-run was cited and released, while two others remain at large. The driver of the hit-and-run incident was apprehended by the California Highway Patrol after being discovered in a backyard nearby, where he was found in a compromising state.
Jillian Lauren-Shriner is known for her 2010 autobiography, “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem,” where she detailed her life with Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei. She married Scott Shriner in Hawaii back in 2005. This troubling incident comes just ahead of Weezer’s performance at the Coachella festival, showcasing a stark contrast to the band’s celebratory mood as they mark the 30th anniversary of their iconic “Blue Album.”
