Turning Point USA Focuses on Young Women After Leader’s Death
Phoenix, Arizona – Turning Point USA, a well-known group for young conservatives, is putting more attention on reaching young women. This comes after the death of Charlie Kirk in September.
Camdyn Glover, a student from Indiana, said she used to be quiet about her conservative views. But she felt she needed to speak out after Kirk’s death. She is now attending the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix with her family.
The group has been popular with young men in the past, but now Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, is leading the organization. She wants to bring in more young women.
Turning Point USA promotes traditional values, such as the importance of marriage and family. They also talk about health and wellness, which is popular with young people online.
Glover, who is 18, said that Turning Point USA helped her feel like she belonged. She feels like she has found a place where she can share her beliefs, like being against abortion.
Stella Ross, another student, said she was inspired by Charlie Kirk’s strong faith. She also saw how many women liked Erika Kirk’s videos. Ross believes that family is important and that a traditional family is “God’s plan.”
Erika Kirk used to focus on her career, but now she leads Turning Point USA. Some believe she can connect with young women because she understands both career and family.
Turning Point USA holds events like the Young Women’s Leadership Summit to encourage traditional family values.
Aubree Hudson, a student leader at Brigham Young University, was near Charlie Kirk when he was shot. She said that since then, more people, especially women, have joined Turning Point USA.
Emma Paskett, who is 18, said that Erika Kirk is a great role model. She said that Kirk’s leadership was a big reason why she joined the group.
