The Rizzler Shines at Special Screening of Thunderbolts
A rising star in social media, 9-year-old Christian Joseph, known as “The Rizzler,” made an appearance at a special screening of Marvel’s upcoming film Thunderbolts in New York City. The event, hosted by the Cinema Society at the iPic Theater, attracted attention as Joseph showed up dressed in a Red Guardian costume.
At the screening, he posed for pictures with various cast members, including actors Lewis Pullman, Florence Pugh, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Wyatt Russell. Known for his playful “rizz face”—an amusing pose where he strokes his chin while giving a charming smile—Joseph has become a favorite among fans.
Though David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian, was not present at the event, the energy was palpable. After the screening, Joseph shared a light-hearted video on TikTok showcasing his visit. In the clip, he quirkily asks for tickets at the counter, hoping his costume would give the staff a clue about the movie.
Joseph first gained fame for a funny video he shared while dressed as Black Panther last Halloween, receiving millions of likes for his amusing take on the character. The term "rizz," short for charisma, has recently become popular to describe someone’s charm or flirting ability, even named Oxford’s word of the year for 2023.
Thunderbolts, based on the Marvel comic, features a group of anti-heroes thrown together in a daring situation. The film includes familiar faces like Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier and Pugh as Yelena Belova, among others. Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
