Nancy Guthrie, 84, of Arizona, is still missing after a week, and her family is pleading for her safe return. Her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, made a public statement, saying the family is ready to meet the demands of those who may be holding her.
“We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her,” she said in a video. “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
The FBI is investigating after a local TV station received a message related to the case. Other news outlets also reportedly received letters, at least one demanding money. Law enforcement officials are taking all tips seriously.
Investigators believe Mrs. Guthrie was taken from her home against her will. Blood found at her home has been confirmed as hers. No suspects have been named yet.
Authorities are working hard to find any leads. They are looking into camera footage from the neighborhood and asking residents for help.
President Trump addressed the case, saying federal authorities are involved in the investigation.
Mrs. Guthrie’s health is a growing concern, as she requires daily medication for her heart condition and high blood pressure.
The family and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to ensure her safe return.
