Trump Plans to Pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley
Former President Donald Trump announced his intention to pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley, who gained fame through their reality show "Chrisley Knows Best." The couple was convicted of fraud and tax evasion, facing significant prison sentences after being found guilty of scamming banks and not paying their taxes. Both Todd and Julie initially received lengthy sentences; however, those have since been reduced.
During a heartfelt conversation from the Oval Office with their children, Savannah and Chase, Trump expressed his hope to finalize the pardons quickly, stating, "I hope we can do it by tomorrow." Savannah, filled with gratitude, thanked Trump for his support, while Chase tearfully expressed his appreciation for the return of their parents.
Savannah has been a vocal advocate for her parents’ clemency since they began their prison sentences in January 2023. She sought Trump’s help earlier this year following a rejection of their initial appeal by a three-judge panel.
Trump characterized the couple’s treatment as excessively harsh, remarking that they are "terrific people" who faced unjust punishment. He congratulated their children and acknowledged their struggles during this difficult time.
After the call, Savannah shared the exciting news with her followers on social media, emphasizing her disbelief and joy that her family would soon be united again. She expressed her profound gratitude to Trump and his administration for their efforts in securing the pardons.
The situation surrounding the Chrisleys has drawn attention, with their attorney claiming the prosecution was politically motivated and highlighted its injustices. He argued that the pardons were necessary to restore the family and correct a wrong.
With the promise of their release, the Chrisley family looks forward to a fresh start, free from the shadow of their legal troubles.
