A little girl who is 10 months old is safe after police say she was taken from her home in North Carolina.
Nalaya Crew was found after an alert was sent out. Police say that a family member, Michelle Hemphill, and her boyfriend, Timothy Lee Smith Jr., took the baby.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said that Nalaya was taken on Saturday night. On Sunday, they said that she was found and is now back with her mom.
Police say that Michelle Hemphill, who is 19, and Timothy Lee Smith Jr., who is 23, are in custody.
Nalaya’s family was worried about her because they thought she was in danger with Michelle. They said that Michelle doesn’t have a home and can’t take care of the baby.
Before they were caught, police said that Michelle was seen getting into a blue minivan that they think Timothy was driving.
