Former President Donald Trump recently shared his latest ambassador nominations via social media and conveyed a message to Senate Republicans regarding collaboration with Democrats.
In his announcement, Trump announced Herschel Walker as his pick for the U.S. ambassador to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Walker, who was a close ally of Trump and ran for the U.S. Senate in Georgia in 2022, has a long history of public service. Trump praised Walker for his dedication, stating, “Herschel has spent decades serving as an Ambassador to our Nation’s youth, our men and women in the Military, and athletes at home and abroad.”
Trump highlighted Walker’s accomplishments as a former NFL player, a successful businessman, and a philanthropist. He noted Walker’s previous role in the Trump administration as Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, where he worked to change perceptions about mental health while visiting over 400 military installations around the globe. Trump also mentioned that Walker had represented the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics as a member of the bobsled team. He concluded his remarks by stating, “Congratulations Herschel! You will make Georgia, and our entire Nation, proud, because we know you will always put AMERICA FIRST!”
Following Walker’s nomination, Trump introduced Nicole McGraw as his choice for U.S. ambassador to Croatia. He described her as a “philanthropist, businesswoman, and World renowned art collector.” Trump noted her efforts in supporting neglected and abused children through her leadership at CANVAS Art Charities and her educational background in art history.
After sharing these nominations, Trump urged Senate Republicans to avoid making deals with Democrats to expedite any nominations before the end of the session. He reiterated his position, saying, “I won the biggest mandate in 129 years. I will make my appointments of Very Qualified People in January when I am sworn in.”
