The court’s ruling did not dismiss the indictment itself but stated that Willis and her team no longer have the authority to move forward with the prosecution. This decision has been welcomed by Trump, who regards the entire case as a blemish on the justice system. In a recent interview, he claimed that the case was initiated by the Biden administration as a direct attack on him as a political rival. Trump pointed out that individuals working under Willis had themselves been implicated in wrongdoing, which raises questions about the integrity of the prosecution.
Trump does not believe that a case initiated under such circumstances should continue. He insisted, “How could corrupt people lead a case and then expect it to be taken over by someone else?” He further argued that the nature of the case—originating from what he called a corrupt prosecutor—necessitates its dismissal altogether.
