A man has been arrested after allegedly making threats online against the TikTok headquarters in Los Angeles.
Police in Culver City, California, say that Joseph Jay Juant Mayuyo, 33, is facing charges for making criminal threats.
According to police, the threats were made on social media on Friday, October 3rd. TikTok employees saw the messages and told the authorities.
Out of caution, the building was evacuated.
Police were able to find Mayuyo and went to his home. After talking with him for over an hour and a half, Mayuyo came out of his house around 1 a.m. on Saturday, October 4th.
Mayuyo is currently in jail, and his bail is set at $100,000.
Police Chief Jason Sims said that the department takes all threats seriously and will investigate them thoroughly to ensure the safety of the community.
