Even though they don’t always see eye-to-eye on politics, “Full House” stars Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure have a bond like sisters.
Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, talked about her relationship with Bure on “The Moment” podcast. She mentioned that Bure has always been strong in her Christian faith.
Sweetin stated, “She was the closest thing I had to a sister. We fought like sisters, even when we were kids, that’s the relationship we had,” Sweetin said, who starred as Bure’s younger TV sister, Stephanie Tanner, on the beloved ’90s sitcom. “Candace’s faith, to be quite honest, has always been at the forefront for her, and I have zero problem with that.”
Sweetin also shared that it’s okay if people don’t agree with her views. She focuses on being true to herself. “It’s OK, you don’t have to like me, but I try not to let other people’s perceptions of who I should be put up any barriers of what I want to be,” she said. “Candace and I are very different in that regard.”
Bure has been open about the importance of her faith. She once shared that during a difficult time, her faith helped her get through it. Some people questioned her values, and she lost some work because of it.
Bure, who is now in charge of creative content at Great American Family, faced criticism when she said the network would focus on traditional marriage in its programming. She explained that she wants to bring the focus back to Christian values in Christmas movies.
Bure responded to the criticism by saying that she loves all people and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. She also said that the media often tries to divide people, even during happy times like Christmas.
