The details surrounding the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner are now under wraps, following a court order. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has taken down the couple’s cause of death reports, even though they were public before.
In a statement, the Medical Examiner’s office said they had to remove the information because of a “security hold” put in place by the court. They received the order on December 24th. For now, no other information about the case will be released.
The news comes after Rob and Michele’s death certificates were released on December 23rd. Those documents showed that they were cremated. The certificates also confirmed earlier reports that the Reiners died from multiple injuries caused by a knife.
Police found the couple’s bodies in their California home on December 14th. Their son, Nick Reiner, was quickly identified as a suspect and arrested.
Nick Reiner has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, with the special circumstance of multiple murders. The District Attorney mentioned that he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty, as he is also accused of using a knife in the crime.
The investigation is ongoing, and the District Attorney’s office hasn’t decided yet whether to seek the death penalty. Nick Reiner’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 7th.
