New Insights into Corinne Perry’s Unsolved Case
In 1983, 17-year-old Corinne Perry left her home in Creston, Iowa, for a routine trip to do laundry. Tragically, she never returned. Her neatly folded clothes were discovered in her car the next day, but Corinne was missing.
Corinne was a high school senior with a love for theater and a warm smile. On that April evening, she left for the Highlander Laundromat, just a short walk from home. Her disappearance quickly turned into one of the area’s most puzzling cold cases.
Initially, authorities suspected Corinne might have run away, causing delays in the investigation. Eyewitnesses later reported seeing a man with glasses, described as being in his 20s or 30s, walking behind her that night. Unfortunately, this man was never identified.
Corinne’s sister, Letitia Perry, has dedicated herself to keeping Corinne’s memory alive and encouraging anyone with information to come forward. "I knew something was wrong immediately. My sister wouldn’t just leave," she shared, expressing her concern when Corinne didn’t come home.
Two weeks after her disappearance, Corinne’s purse was located on a bridge, her belongings untouched inside. For over a year, the Perry family was left waiting for news.
Finally, on November 3, 1984, hunters discovered a shallow grave near where Corinne’s purse had been found. The remains were later confirmed to be Corinne’s through dental records. Sadly, the condition of the remains made it impossible to determine a cause of death.
In 2009, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation reopened the case, hoping modern forensic methods could provide new leads. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly named.
Letitia, now in her 50s, believes someone in the locality knows what happened that night and is determined not to give up until justice is served. "I can’t give up. She was my little sister," Letitia emphasized.
The case remains open, and the Iowa DCI encourages anyone with information to reach out by calling (515) 725-6010 or to submit an anonymous tip online.
