ICE Conducts Major Arrest Operation in Boston Area
BOSTON – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently carried out a significant operation in the Boston area, resulting in the arrest of numerous illegal immigrants with serious criminal backgrounds. This initiative marks one of the largest efforts since President Trump returned to office.
The operation has focused on apprehending individuals who pose a danger to the community. Among those arrested was a Salvadoran illegal immigrant previously convicted of child rape, who was found living near a playground. Another suspect on ICE’s radar was an illegal migrant wanted in El Salvador for aggravated murder and kidnapping.
Patricia Hyde, head of ICE Boston, highlighted that it’s a growing concern to see such criminals back on the streets due to the current lenient border policies. "We are encountering many individuals who have been previously deported for heinous crimes, now living among us," Hyde noted. "It is our duty to track them down."
ICE mobilized teams from across the country to assist with this extensive operation, with Boston agents reporting interference from local activist groups that oppose their efforts. Hyde expressed frustration over the lack of cooperation, which she stated is putting the safety of law enforcement personnel at risk.
During the operation, ICE also arrested a Colombian immigrant facing charges for sexual assault against a child and a Dominican migrant with a history of drug trafficking. Other notable arrests included a Guatemalan national charged with aggravated child rape, along with a Honduran immigrant facing local rape charges, both of whom had been released from local custody.
Despite facing opposition from local lawmakers and activists, Hyde affirmed that ICE remains committed to ensuring public safety. "We are not backing down. We are here because the American people expect us to act," she said. "We will continue our mission until we have addressed this issue."
In coming days, we can expect more efforts from ICE as they work to secure our communities against dangerous individuals.
