A California man is in trouble with the law after a car crash on Christmas Day. The crash, involving multiple vehicles, resulted in the death of two children.
The accident happened on Interstate 5 in Lebec, California. Two cars crashed around 3:00 p.m. One of the cars, a Nissan Rogue, crashed into the back of a Toyota RAV4.
The police say the driver of the Nissan Rogue, Jorge Preciado, lost control of the car. He has been arrested and is accused of putting children in danger.
During the crash, three children were thrown from the Nissan. Sadly, two of them died at the scene.
The police are still trying to figure out why Preciado lost control of the car.
Authorities are reminding everyone about the importance of using car seats to keep children safe while driving.
The weather in Southern California had been very bad leading up to Christmas. There was a lot of rain, and officials warned people about dangerous driving conditions.
