In an emotional Instagram Stories post, Parton expressed her gratitude and sorrow, saying, “I have not stopped crying over the beautiful tribute.” She emphasized how meaningful it was to see so many talented singers honor Carl with her song, stating, “The emotion was beyond words.”
Parton revealed that she and Carl enjoyed over 60 wonderful years of marriage together. She thanked everyone for their prayers and support during this tough time, asking for privacy as her family grieves.
Although the cause of Dean’s death has not been made public, Parton shared that his burial would be a private event with just close family. She reflected on their life together, saying, “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared.”
During the Opry 100 celebration, Parton sent a heartfelt video message to the audience, expressing her sadness at not being able to attend but assuring them that her spirit was with them. The event featured around 50 members of the Grand Ole Opry, further highlighting the deep connections within the country music community during this time of loss.
