A man from Florida is facing felony battery charges after an Amazon delivery driver called 911, concerned for a woman who seemed to be in trouble.
On March 28, at around 4:45 PM, an officer from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home where the driver reported that the woman who answered the door quietly said, “Help me.”
Upon arrival, the deputy found the woman on the front porch with 43-year-old Frank Mandolini. The woman looked distressed and had noticeable red marks on her neck, according to the police report.
She explained that she and Mandolini, who were once married and still living together, had a heated argument. She accused him of using his phone and other devices to communicate with other women or watch inappropriate content.
During the dispute, Mandolini allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck, dragged her to the floor, and began choking her. She told the officer that she almost lost consciousness before he finally released her.
Mandolini later admitted to choking her but claimed he did not cut off her breathing and denied any wrongdoing.
Court documents revealed that a child also resides in the home, prompting the Florida Department of Children and Families to be alerted about the situation.
Records indicate that Mandolini has faced prior domestic violence charges and is now charged with felony battery by strangulation. He was booked into jail but posted a $30,000 bond on March 31.
Mandolini’s arraignment is scheduled for June 5, and he has been ordered to stay away from the victim.
