The Country Music Association Celebrates Another Year of American Tradition
Nashville, TN – The 59th annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards took place Wednesday night in Nashville, honoring the best in country music. The event, broadcast live, showcased the enduring appeal and values of this uniquely American art form.
Ella Langley and Riley Green started the night strong, winning Single of the Year for their song “You Look Like You Love Me.” The legendary Brooks & Dunn secured Vocal Duo of the Year, marking their 16th win in the category, a testament to their lasting impact on the genre.
The awards also highlighted the contributions of women in country music, with Langley, Megan Moroney, and host Lainey Wilson leading the nominations. Wilson was also a contender for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award, alongside Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and last year’s winner, Morgan Wallen.
The show opened with a performance by Luke Combs, followed by a medley led by Lainey Wilson, joined by other country stars.
The CMA Awards recognize not only established artists but also rising stars. Nominees for New Artist of the Year included Langley, Shaboozey, Tucker Wetmore, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Zach Top. The legendary Vince Gill was honored with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
