A 27-year-old bride-to-be, Canada Rinaldi, faced a terrible attack during her bachelorette party in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred late at night as she and her friends were heading to an Uber after an enjoyable evening out. Sadly, what was meant to be a joyful celebration turned into a nightmare.
According to a GoFundMe campaign started to help Rinaldi with her medical expenses, she suffered serious injuries, including a broken nose and three broken teeth, and required eight stitches on her face. Rinaldi spoke about the traumatic experience, stating, “I don’t remember the attack; I only remember walking to my Uber and then being in and out of the ambulance and hospital.” This incident took place just a month before her wedding, casting a shadow over what should have been one of the happiest times of her life.
The attack happened around 2 a.m. local time, and Rinaldi was knocked unconscious when the assailant struck her. Following the incident, she has been recovering well. Rinaldi noted that police are investigating and have identified a possible suspect, which has brought her some relief. Despite her injuries, she remains optimistic about her upcoming wedding, stating, “I will still have the best day of my life with the person I love no matter what I look like!”
Others were affected by the attack as well. Rinaldi’s future aunt-in-law, Kelly Peralta, was also injured while trying to protect Rinaldi. Peralta recounted the chaos of the moment, explaining that she turned to help Rinaldi, only to get caught in the attack herself.
The Dallas Police Department stated that the incident was recorded on a dash camera from a nearby vehicle, which showed a man fleeing the scene. The GoFundMe campaign has raised over $12,900 to aid Rinaldi in her recovery, covering not just medical costs but also addressing the emotional and financial strain she is facing after this brutal event.
Though Rinaldi expressed feelings of disbelief and sadness about the attack, she is determined to overcome this trauma and find joy in her future. The community’s support during this challenging time reflects the strength of connection and care.
